Now in its 24th year, the Great Halloween Lantern Parade showcases a delightful spectacle of local residents donning mythical creature costumes while carrying meticulously crafted glowing lanterns that cast a magical glow upon the park. The day commences with a costume contest for kids, featuring arts and crafts, impromptu performances, food trucks, and lantern-making workshops. As twilight descends, the customary celebration continues with a lantern-lit procession through Patterson Park, complete with an even greater assembly of musicians, artists, performers, and enthusiastic participants. You can either observe the festivities along the parade route with your family and friends or join the parade itself by carrying a lantern.
